Building Codes, Construction Types & Contractors (with HBA) is an educational class designed to help REALTORS® better understand how construction standards and building practices impact real estate transactions. In partnership with the Home Builders Association (HBA), this session covers the basics of building codes, common construction types, materials, and methods, as well as the roles and responsibilities of licensed contractors. Participants will learn how to identify red flags, communicate effectively with builders and contractors, and better support clients when buying, selling, or building homes. Ideal for REALTORS® working with new construction, renovations, or inspections, this class provides practical insights to improve confidence, reduce surprises, and add value for clients throughout the transaction process.
